Favicon Generator
A complete favicon set from any image — real multi-size favicon.ico, Apple touch and Android PNGs, and the HTML tags to paste — generated on your device, never uploaded.
How to use this tool
- Choose a square-ish image — a logo or icon works best (it gets center-cropped to square).
- Download the favicon.ico (16+32+48 in one file) and the PNG sizes you need: 180 for Apple touch, 192 and 512 for Android/PWA.
- Copy the HTML link tags and paste them into your site's <head>.
How it works
Your image is center-cropped square and redrawn at each standard size on a local canvas. The .ico file is assembled right in your browser — a real multi-image ICO container holding PNG-encoded 16, 32, and 48 pixel versions, which every modern browser reads. Nothing is uploaded.
Design note: favicons live at 16×16 in a tab. Fine detail and thin text vanish at that size — bold, simple shapes with strong contrast survive. Check the 16px preview before shipping.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need a .ico file in 2026?
It's still the most universally understood format and the default browsers request at /favicon.ico — ship it alongside the PNG sizes and every client is covered.
What sizes do I actually need?
The .ico (16/32/48) for browsers, 180×180 PNG for Apple touch icons, and 192/512 PNGs for Android and PWA manifests. That set covers essentially everything.
Why does my favicon look blurry?
Usually a detailed image scaled to 16px. Start from simple, bold artwork — or crop tighter so the recognizable shape fills the frame.
