How it works
Annual = hourly × hours/week × weeks/year. The defaults (40 hours, 52 weeks) give the standard shorthand of 2,080 hours a year — $25/hour ≈ $52,000. Adjust weeks for unpaid time off, or hours for part-time.
These are gross (pre-tax) figures. Income tax, payroll tax, and benefits vary too much by person and state for an honest universal calculator — that's why we show gross and say so, rather than pretend at a net number. For take-home pay, check a paystub or your payroll portal.
