How to use this tool
- Create a deck (or start from the sample) and add cards — front, back, and an optional hint.
- Switch to Quiz mode, choose which side to see first, and shuffle if you like.
- Reveal each answer and mark yourself correct or missed — your session score builds as you go.
- Review just the cards you missed, print the deck as physical cards, or export it as a JSON file to back up or share.
How it works
Your decks are saved automatically to your browser's local storage on this device, so they're waiting for you when you come back — no account, no upload. Because storage is per-browser, use Export to move a deck to another device or share it with a classmate, and Import to load it there.
Active recall — forcing yourself to produce the answer before flipping the card — is one of the most consistently supported study techniques in cognitive science. The quiz mode is built around it: guess first, reveal second, and re-drill the cards you missed.
Frequently asked questions
Are my flashcards private?
Yes. Decks live in your browser's local storage on your device and are never sent to Tallyloom's servers. The trade-off: they don't sync between devices — use Export/Import to move them.
Can I print my flashcards?
Yes — the Print cards button produces a clean sheet of front/back pairs with none of the surrounding page, ready to cut into physical cards.
Can I export or move my deck?
Yes. Export downloads the active deck as a JSON file; Import loads a previously exported file on any device. That's also your backup against cleared browser data.
Can I quiz another person?
Absolutely — hand over the device (or read the cards aloud), choose which side to show first, and mark answers correct or missed. The session summary shows the score at the end.
