How to use this tool
- Enter your details, the company, the role, and a phrase describing your background.
- Optionally add a lead achievement and a reason this company stands out.
- Pick a tone — Professional, Enthusiastic, or Direct.
- Edit the generated draft freely, then copy it or print / save as PDF.
How it works
The generator assembles a standard cover-letter structure — greeting, opener tying your background to the role, an achievement paragraph, a why-this-company paragraph, and a close — from your inputs. It's a scaffold, not a final product: the strongest letters are the ones you then personalize in the editor.
Generic cover letters are easy to spot. Naming a specific achievement and a specific reason you want this company does more than any template can.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a cover letter be?
Three to five short paragraphs — under one page, roughly 250–350 words. Hiring managers skim; make every sentence earn its place.
Should I address it to a specific person?
If you can find the hiring manager's name, use it. Otherwise 'Dear Hiring Manager' is standard and perfectly acceptable — the tool defaults to that.
What should the first sentence do?
Name the role and give the reader one concrete reason to keep reading — your most relevant experience or achievement. Skip 'I am writing to express my interest.'
